Kira is 5 and a half weeks old already! A milestone has been reached..last night she slept in her car seat for the first time for about 20 mins and this morning she has gone to sleep in her carry cot for the first time. She's always had to be right next to me else she would wake up after 5 mins. I suppose I should feel glad, but it feels like she is growing up so quickly, she's starting not to be the totally dependent newborn any more *sob*. Poor DH is still sleeping on the sofa as Kira sleeps with me, this normally would not be a problem if it were not for DH's night terrors and sleepwalking. Which I normally take with good humour but with such little sleep going round as is, I'm none too keen to get woken up by him as well. Last time he was in the bed with us he was up at 3am screaming about a red button and slamming the floor to try and hit it, apparently he was dreaming that he had to keep the baby alive "lost style" by hitting a red button. It's quite funny but it's only as he's so worried about the baby. Luckily the sofa is really comfy and he's enjoying playing the PS3 lol!
I've also started a craft project to make a "configuration box" inspired by Tim Holtz's craft range ...which is like super expensive and way out of my league so I'm doing a charity shop version which I think is probably more fun and creative than just buying the bits. It's a like a little shelf of curios in a distressed steampunk-esque style. I found a little shelving unit for £2, some old buttons and bits of lace and I've printed out some sheets on music... I'll post piccies when it's done :)

  1. Good to hear you are all doing well, apart from your dh's night terrors, they don't sound fun at all.
Can't wait to see your craft project, sounds very interesting.

  2. 5.5 weeks, wow. can't believe it!

i have no idea what you mean by the configuration box so i look forward to seeing pictures :)

  3. I know what you mean by them growing up, and mine is only two weeks old! Look forward to seeing your project!
