Shoes and a new blog

I'm a frequent moaner about how shallow and superficial so many blogs are and how all they go on about is fashion, hair, makeup and what some ridiculous so called celeb is wearing. What about the awesome stuff - books, films, music and SCIENCE DAMMIT!!

But I spotted these in House Of Frazer, Birmingham today and I take it all back SHOOOEEEEESSSS!! SQUEEEEE!!!. They make me wish that a) I had money with which to buy said Tim Burtonesque footwear and b)that they didn't reduce feet to blistered, bunioned stumps. But oh my they are so pretty!

Science is amazing

I know I've talked about this before but heres another article on fetal cells remaining in your body. I still love the idea that in a way I am carrying Bella with me.

Bits of baby remain in your body after childbirth -- for years!

A Day Out

Today we decided that despite being totally in the overdraft at the beginning of the month *sigh*, we would take a trip to Stratford Upon Avon. At least we could window shop and be out of the house for a few hours. There is a Christmas Shop which is open all year around which was fun, lots of stalls to browse through and some good buskers to watch too. We had fun with Kira, who is properly toddling about at last, looking at the barge boats and the swans (and trying to avoid her attempts to get in the water with them). Looking forward to watching the last episode of Game Of Thrones tonight, it's sooo good!!

Making use of scrapbook paper

For my birthday last year I got got a whole bunch of Tim Holtz craft stuff. Its lovely steampunky grunge style stuff but I've not used it much before now. I've got this great set of clear acrylic drawers from Muji that I store all my makeup in, they are very practical but not very pretty. Yesterday while kira was having a nap I used the Tim Holtz scrapbook paper to decorate it. Really pleased with how it turned out, big improvement!

The Mystery Triffid

This plant started to grow out of my patio a while back and I've trained it up a wooden ladder (from Freegle ftw!) I'm have no idea what it is but it looks like a passionflower. But passionflowers have seeds in fruit and are a bugger to grow according to the internet so I'm not convinced that it is. If it is, how on earth did it get there?
Its now got some flower buds on it so I think I will find out for sure when they open. If anyone can shed any light on it please let me know!
